Lawrence Junior Carter, 83, of Mount Ida, Arkansas, passed away June 6, 2019 in the Montgomery County Nursing Home in Mount Ida. Lawrence was born October 11, 1935 in Sims, Arkansas, to the late Sterling Gifford and Oder Lola Carter. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Bennie Sue Carter.
Lawrence is survived by his 2 sons; Phillip (Kelly) Carter of Fayetteville, and Cecil Ray (Ramona) Willis of Fort Smith, 1 sister Ina Dean Mabry, 3 granddaughters; Ellen Godsey, Lisa Gladden and Elizabeth Carter-Fayers, and 5 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lone Valley Cemetery in Sims, Arkansas, with Bro. DeWayne Holloway officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida, AR. Guest register at www.thorntonfh.com
